So transfer calls were last night, they were early. We got them before 10:30 usually takes til 11 or even 11:30 but the news is Sis Pugsley and I are staying! Sister Sorensen is going to Grimsby and Sis Ahola is training, so Sis P won't be the youngest in the flat anymore!(: Well She doesn't seem like a new missionary anyway. She well round missionary, very smart and just amazing! Like if she was my companion for the rest of my mission, I wouldn't mind. She's one brilliant missionary.
This week we had a zone-wide training. It was all about being First Class. When you fly first class the service is amazing, all the way from the start to end. They greet you personally, they cook you a posh dinner, they give you a hand massage, they are very polite, they do all this service to make sure you have a great flight and will fly with them a gain. Mission President used this analogy to refer how us missionaries need to be with our church investigators, non church members, church members and all that we are in contact with! WE are a first class mission with first class missionaries. We are all different missionaries with different talents and gifts and we can all develop ourselves to be proper first class missionaries. For me, I need to be connected with the people I meet and talk to. I think, I just need to have more genuine love for them and then everything else will flow. If you have no charity you are nothing, so I need to develop it my charity!
This week was great, we taught loads of people, we met a Taiwanese lass and she was great. But her parents are buddhist and don't want her to change into Christianity...but when we were teaching her, I had a hard time understanding her accent because I wasn't used to it haha but a lot of the people we talk to on the street say I sound like a Hong Kong or Taiwanese person haha I think because my accent is so bad that they thing I am from there haha
So this week was filled with fun finding and teaching. We taught Michelle with my broken Spanish. She has a little problem with Prophets. She believes but doesn't know yet. And that's a great first step since she has a heavy Catholic background. We are going to wait a week, before she gets baptised tho, we want to resolve that concern first. I think once she watches a few talk from the prophet she'll have the Holy Spirit comfirm that he is a prophet of God.
We also taught Lucas, he's like the most sarcastic Chinese lad I've ever met. He's so funny. He always makes fun of Clive( Chinese Recent Convert), they are good friends(: He's been to Bible Classes befoer so he has a bit of a background in the bible and we taught him the Plan of Salvation and committed him to read the Book of Mormon and pray to the Lord everyday! He'll be heading to Taiwan to get data for his dissertation so..we won't be able to see him for 10 days...
But Yesterday we has Family Home Evening at the bishop's house. Bishop prepared a great lesson on being Christlike and serving others. It was a real good lesson. Our church investigator Gabrielle got to know Bishop and his family. Initially she was nervous, but she warmed up at the end of the lesson and participated and conversated with Bishop and his family. She enjoyed the activity so much that she wants so make dinner for us! Mmmm, yes, good chinese food again! I miss Crystal's and Mandy's cooking from Newcastle haha
Sheffield 3 university area is doing great, definitely progressing. Sis Pugsley has been a huge asset to that! It's fantastic to have her.
