Hiya Mum and Dad!

Me shoes are still going strong, just going to buy some boots soon.
This past week was a lil stressful, Pugs and I we're worried and anxious about transfer calls. Sis Ahola, flatmate, calls us 'the old married couple' because we always have like service wars like washing the dishes or cooking, just anything! So it'd be sad to leave, but we both STAYED! YAY! We both pretty excited about this transfer, it's gan be good!

This week we taught Dean. He read in the Church Sunday meeting programme announcement about a youth temple trip and asked if he could go! He is so excited to have this experience and to do sacred ordinances for his ancestors. It's amazing that he even brought it up! So we are doing all we can to organise that for him(:

Lesley passed her xili 洗禮 baptism interview! We had Hedwig there to share her experience of baptism before the xili interview, which made Lesley 'looking forward to being drowned'. She calls baptism drowning cuz, to her, that's what it looks like haha but she does know what the promises and significance of baptism is(: and we, being focused on what will happen at transfer, forgot the baptismal record so we had to run home and run back! That's what you get for lacking in morning exercise bahaha just imagine it two people in skirts and big coats bustling down streets, pre cray.

Oh and we got TWO surprise calls! Two potentials this week who we haven't contacted in a while, rang us. They wanted to come to Church with us! Last Sunday was the Primary children's programme so it was a great Church service to come to. It was also a Young Single Adult munch and Mingle. So grateful for the munch and mingle cuz our recent church converts, church investigators and potential church investigators got to integrate with the local church ward members and other students! Perfect activity! And Sis Pugs and I made sure to set the chinese in between the YSAs to start friendships(:

A new church investigator we have is Rui Xi, she's got a few Chinese friends in the States who became members of the Church in America and they have been telling her about it. And she is very interested cuz of the influence of her friends. Power of being a Christlike example. She's got an open schedule and loves to go to church activities and met some YSA at the Munch and Mingle and wants to go to a YSA Convention!

I love local church ward/missionary coordinations! Bro Grainger is a man who magnifies his church calling! He's the assistant Ward Mission Leader but so helpful, he's giving us great ideas, support, how to get the local church ward more involved. This is a great change for us, we're not used to is. He writes down all that we need help with and sends it to the Bishop. This area will be blooming!

Oh and last Preparation day, we went to Castleton! An hour away on the bus! Great adventures, we climbed a huge hill and saw loads of vistas and sheep!

Love yous!

I definitely know what you mean when you get that achey/antsy feeling when change is happening. I have a feeling that I'll be leaving the Sheffield Area next transfer, so sad, I don't want to. Sheffield is GREAT. The ward is fantastic, I am just getting settle in, my tongban is the best ever. We get on so well. I guess maybe it's a good thing cuz we have too much fun together haha

This week has flown by so fast! Felt Like it was just p-day, I guess these are the signs of the times. Signs of when the mission is coming to a close! But this week we met with DEAN! Gotta love Dean. Right now he's in the Book of Mormon's Isaiah Chapters, and nobody really understands those. But he really reads them. Takes the verses apart and ponders them seriously. We read Isaiah 27 and he really like it. The fruitful field was his favorite part. It's great to see recent converts to the Church continue to grow and add of to their testimony of Jesus Christ and understanding of the gospel. Dean is also very servicable, he comes to all the xilihui's 洗禮會 baptisms. Came to Erin's to give an opening prayer and guided our church investigator to the Church to witness the baptism. He's a great example of a church member missionary and still so excited to continue learning(:

So Erin got baptised! She's a cute lass, really admired all those that came to her baptism to support her. She said she felt amazing right after coming out of the font(: we got a good amount of chinese members and English members there to support her. She initially got lost 30 mins before the baptism and we got a church member and her car to go on a rapid search for Erin. It stressed me out so much BAH! She listened to google instead of the instructions we gave her. but we still got her in time for the baptism so all was well(:

H is a master! He's just down to one cig a day! And he's totally off alcohol, been clean for 3 weeks. So we read in the Book of Mormon 1st Nephi chapter 15, he like verse 24. We told him he needs to be constantly reading and praying to have that strength. He's been stressed out with school and not sleeping well. He wasn't planning to come to church but on sundaymorning we got a text! 'Sisters, i want to go to church, what time does the bus leave. I will wake up at 7. Reply ASAP' It made me sunday morning! And he enjoyed church even tho he was very sleepy. Oh and I gave a lil talk on member involvement in missionary work. I was given 2 days to prep....it went alright(:

Love yous!

Hedwig was baptised and now has her Patronus (HG)

MUM and DAD! Nimen hao ma 你們好嗎 How are you all? I am practising my Chinese character reading from the character-pinyin Book of Mormon. So I can read some simple characters haha

I do need to pay closer attention to the Holy Ghost, Elder Larry Lawrence's general conference talk last weekend was great for that! I just need to be constantly thinking about it and than I can get better practise.

Hedwig was baptised and now has her Patronus Aka Hedwig now has the gift of the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost! So the baptism turned out so well. We started late, the speakers didn't come on time but we had about 35 people there! Great turn out! We went to a family's home for Family Home Evening, and Hedwig really like the family environment. So we asked the family (Jones) if their oldest daughter (10 yrs) could speak at the baptism. So since this very mature and great public speaker little girl spoke her family and extended family-who are in the ward- came to support her! So that was one factor why there was many people. Hedwig was super happy that people she hasn't even met came and welcomed her and supported her. Her best friend, Clive, was really surprised that there was so many people. He got baptised in March this year. They met at Church, CUTE! I am playing missionary and matchmaker bahaha It's good for them, they can both strengthen each other.

I'll start buying winter clothes to bring home in January or Boxing day. But for Christmas don't send me anything! Cuz in a few months I'll bring it all back haha Money would be okay to send, cuz now i only have like £120 pounds in me account.

But this week we met an ABC (American-born Chinese)! The first one ever, and I've been here for a year and never met an ABC til this past week. She is from Washington. She was happy to meet another ABC too. She only knew a lil Canto.

The good lessons we had this week were with Hans. He's a PhD student. His grandmum is christian and has some christian beliefs. Initially, he was intimidating to teach cuz he's older and he's very forward in his personality. We thought he wanted to bible bash a bit. (Bible bashing is when people find scriptures to argue about and want to argue more than learn and study. It's even more complicated when people use different translations of the Bible.)  But in lesson 2 we got to get a better feel of Hans. He really enjoyed the Plan of Salvation. He's very straight forward in his comments, we realised that it's just his way of learning. He says what he thinks. So we invited him to Church. He said no. He wanted to stay home and worship. Then, off the hype of the Holy Ghost, I asked him, 'Are you scare of Church?' And he really opened up! he said he's scared of public places, we reassured him that we'll be at church and the members we brought out will be at church. He committed to come next week. It was great to just say what thought was in my mind. Like that was a bit unusual for me to do, usually I think about it and debate with myself if I should say certain things, but if you listen to the Holy Ghost things work out. It's truly a great blessing to have and I am so happy Hedwig now has it(:

That's all I got time for

Love YOUS

Sis Pugs sent Pugs a package and wrote a letter and gave me chap stick-very thoughtful and kind(: I think you two family would get along very well.
I have no idea if Mission President Pilkington will keep my previous transfer pattern (move me to another area then at the following transfer have me train a new missionary) cuz the Sheffield Bishop really likes the work that Pugs and I are doing...I hope I stay companions with pugs but since I really want to stay comps with her, I'll probably get transferred...I hope I go to York!

We don't have any stalkers...yet, pugs is really pretty so we might later haha we do have some creepers but they just chat with us

We had Family Home Evening at the White's. Bro White is a great former missionary and church member. We brought Hedwig and her classmate (we didn't know they were mates until we invited Kevin to Hedwig's xili 洗禮 baptism) Kevin! Bro White taught on the simple topic of Truth. Why it is important to know where truth comes from. We can all experiment if things are good, but when we know where they come from our whole demeanor changes. We change our behaviour and attitude and the way we carry ourselves. When we know that the good things we have comes from God we are more appreciative and we have more personal motivation to follow his commandments. It's definitely something to experiment from and to ponder about. It was just a great lesson to me and how I should teach my church investigators and a great lesson to the church investigators and their knowledge of truth and God. And now Hedwig realises that the answers from her life questions are from God and Kevin has noticed he has more self-confidence, and that is from learning more about God.

We, Sis Pugs and I, would like to announce Hedwig's high marks in passing her flying test. The flying test that will allow her to start on the path of exaltation in the highest heaven. She passed her xili interview and will be baptised this week!(: She is so so very excited to get baptised!(:

We saw saturday session and the sunday morning session of general conference. We did do a lil potluck after the 1st session on Sunday(: It was really nice we had 2 chinese members, 3 church investigators and 1 potential church investigator that came!(: They all seemed to enjoy it(:

I really like the Saturday session where the Seventy Elder Larry R. Lawrence talked on the Holy Ghost. How the Holy Ghost give customised counsel, and is honest. He'll tell you things that other will be afraid to tell you/scared to offend you. His talk really answered all my personal questions. All I need to do is ask Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost will tell me, 'What Lack I yet?'

I also really like the Apostle Elder Dale G. Renlund testimony, I had the same thought mum did. He is very very humble, I really liked when he said we should look at everyone thru a parents eyes, Heavenly Father's eyes. I definitely need to do that better, especially when church investigators are making me so frustrated! (well, they don't make me frustrated, I get impatient) I've got loads to work on, but that's okay it's all a process thru the 'dark bike tunnel'. Just glad I have the light of others to help me and guide me until I can do it on me own(: So so very grateful for yous and my comps who have taught me very very much on my mission and even the years leading up to my mission. I love you heaps!

Ta, Love,
Sis Chee
