I don't think I've explained what the missionary schedule is like. We wake up at 6:30. We have 30 mins to get ready and dress up for breakfast. After breakfast it is around 7:20 and we have gym at 7:35. We work out or play sports until 8:25. Then we have 30 mins to get ready for study times. 9:55 we do personal study- we usually study what we are going to teach our investigators. 10:55 we have companion study and we shared what we have learned and plan out our lesson plan. 11:55 we have language study and we study the vocabulary that we need in our lesson or grammar principles. Then we have LUNCH! After lunch we have additional study for an hour. We study up on anything we need to study -- vocab, characters, the scriptures, etc. At 1:30 we have class until 4:30. In class we go over the grammar, teach our investigators, and do demos of how to teach, and go over the Preach My Gospel manual (see https://www.lds.org/manual/preach-my-gospel-a-guide-to-missionary-service?lang=eng). Then we have a break, DINNER. Once we are stuffed then we have another 3 hour block of class. After class we have another hour of additional study. and then we plan our schedules at9:00. Head back to our residence at 9:30. Get ready for bed until 10:15 and at 10:15 it is quiet time where we focus on praying and asking our Heavenly Father for help or talking to him or sharing with him what we did for the day.
That is basically the schedule for the whole week. Tuesdays - Saturdays, and Sundays are different. We have devotional instead of one class on Tuesdays. And Saturdays we have to teach a member of the church that's called TRC (Teaching Resource Center).
Tonight we TRC someone from Taiwan on Skype! It's going to be interesting how this goes and if our lesson will go well but I am excited to teach someone from Taiwan!(:
Yesterday, my tongban and I were called to be the new Sister Training Leaders(STL)! Our responsibility is to welcome the new incoming missionaries, interview all the sister missionaries in our zone, and to be like spys for the Branch President. We make sure that all the sisters are okay, taken care of, feel okay, and basically be like a big sister to them. I sort of expected to be called the STL because my tongban and I have the best companionship and with less drama. I'm not sure how good of an STL i'll be but I definitely need to develop more Christlike attributes. I will need patience, love, kindness, and lots to be a good STL. But I am excited for the assignment(:
This picture is the Book of Mormon in chinese characters, pinyin, and english. I use this daily to help me learn mando and the characters. This chapter in the BoM is also a great one(:
Well this is all that has been going on in the MTC!
