Nimen hao ma 你們好嗎 How are you?!
Sounds like yous had a pretty crazy week! Loads of work, I'd be home sleeping from the work load! Glad you can still hold up DieDie 爹爹 Daddy!
Well Dean got baptised! The local church ward was very supportive at his baptism, while preparing we made a big effort to get the local church members involved in his xilihui 洗禮會 baptism. The attendance at baptisms are usually low and they have the service in the children's Primary room but as First Class missionaries, sis Pugs and I, made sure people were going to be there. Made crazy and introduced everyone to Dean. Dean even inadvertently helped! He always invited people to come to his xilihui! And you can never turn down an invitation from Dean, he's too cute you can't say no (look at pic below!) It was a great xilihui, the talks and ambience was just perfect. Dean enjoyed it loads. He'll get confirmed as an official member of the church on the 27th cuz he booked a holiday over the weekend and next week is the local stake conference.
We also met with H. His smoking progress is brilliant. He is down to 4/5 cigs a day! he used to be at 40. so this is much progress. Sis Pugsley and I even fasted earlier in the transfer to ask the Lord to give him more strength. And lemme tell ya the power of fasting works! H's transformation is incredible to see, a miracle in action!
We also had Family Home Evening yesterday at the Jone's. They are a family of 5 with 3 kids. The younger two were pretty energetic. We brought Hedwig and her friend Ying (from Newcastle!) Now Hedwig initially thought that families weren't so important until she went to Church and having the lessons from us. And at this home, she loved the idea of Family Home Evening-having a set time just for the family to talk and grow together. She felt the love and happiness from this family tho it was a tad hectic haha She even texted us after saying, 'Thank you, for bringing us happiness.' Her growth and change is amazing to see. Every time we have lessons with her it's a miracle within itself! She takes diligent notes on the passages of scriptures she reads and really want to know how to discern the Holy Spirit. She find the commandments, Word of Wisdom hard at first but after we discuss the principle further sees how it can help and is willing to keep the Lord's commandments right away.
Ah, I've also learned loads from Mum watching her soap operas, even tho I had no idea what was going on in the series haha. Loads of Mum's tele series are about old Chinese and their traditions. Especially when they go to the Chinese temples and worship. At our lesson yesterday, with two new church investigators, we were talking about prayer! As they were describing what they normally do for prayers I could picture it in my mind from Mum and her soap operas haha. A chinese person holding incense sticks, shake them gently til one falls out. And then burn it on an altar and bai bai 拜拜 (worship/pray). But it's surprising the things you learn before the mission and how they can help you in the mission. Blessings, blessing everywhere ahah
We also had transfer calls! We, sis pugs and I, aka the A Team (quoting Mission President Pilkington) are staying here in Sheffield!(: This is going to be a great transfer, I can feel it. Just so hyped for it!((:
Love yous! Take care!
