The weather here has been great, so sunny and warm. I walk around in just a shirt and skirt. The weekend was poor and horrible but the sun is out and shining! Sun = happy people = easier street contacting = happy missionaries
You know I was just joking when I said those Burma lasses should cook for me. I said it jokingly! Those Burmese lasses weren't shy, they weren't interested in the gospel of Jesus Christ, so I said something to make them loosen up and let them see that we missionaries are normal people and are happy people.
My companion and flatmates thought Super Piggy was interesting haha they didn't like the dulces de mexicanos. But I ate them all in like 3 days...and perhaps my gastrointestinal system had struggles hahaha
The ipads are nice, I can show videos in Chinese about Church members, the I am a Mormon videos. We have to download everything on them, which takes ages because there is so much to download! And since ipads are a new thing they are super restrictive on how we can use them. We still email in the library, which is fine by me. I not bothered. We got the ipads with a nice zipper case. So it's WELL protected. Almost like a beehive-pattern industrial case.
So this past week. Our closest investigator to baptism is Wendy. She from Tian Jin, close to Bei Jing. It's one of the city provinces in China. She had an unfirm belief in God, she wasn't sure if He was there or not. So for awhile, I was asking Heavenly Father to help Wendy have an experience that will help her believe in Him. And when we met Wendy for our next appointment, she told us exciting news. On her exams she was a top scorer. She's taking English foundations it's requisite for her major. She scored so well that she doesn't have to take the foundation next term! And the whole time she was preparing for her exams she prayed to God and read the Book of Mormon, and asked Heavenly Father to help her. From this experience she now believes in God. ONE step closer to baptism, we pushed her baptismal date back a few weeks because she will be traveling and also because of other issues. But prayers for others to have spiritual experiences is a real thing. Just like in the Book of Mormon when Alma prays for his son to see the truth of the gospel, and then Alma the younger becomes truly converted!(: It was a great miracle to see
This week we also had a Chinese BBQ activity, I learned a great principle in diligence. The night before the activity we had no one attending. And missionaries can't attend activities without a church investigator or potential church investigator. So sis hurst and I rang and texted about 30 potential investigators. Thru several prayers and an hour later we receive a text. A potential investigator named Eileen said she'd love to come and (bonus blessing) she would bring a friend! They both came to the activity and enjoyed it, and now they are a step closer to Christ(: Eileen loved the architecture of the Church. Then I showed her Temples.
This week was full of miracles! Love being a missionary, it's not a sacrifice, it's a major blessing!
Love yous, stay healthy
