Watching the old General Conference talks would be a great companion study activity one day, that's so cool how the Lord's revelations through the prophets are coming true nowadays! It's like magic or the work of God(:
I've already told you that I am turning into white cheese...me legs are white and mozzarella.
One evening we were at the Hoben's for tea. The Hoben's have a huge family, 7. And that is enormous for England., 5 kids is extremely big. But after tea, their youngest daughter (7ish years old) was taking pics of me and I was making silly faces. She commented, 'You have a smile on your neck.' it was the cutest reference to a scar I've ever heard.
But this past week we had Zone conference. So good. We will getting iPads this week, there will be loads of good finding activities thru that (: I am excited to use that to be more creative in finding new church investigators.
But the main things that Zone Conference covered was obtaining an education after the mission and gossiping...Gossip, everyone does it. But we shouldn't. Some good quotes that came from mission President Graham Pilkington's talk on gossip were, 'Soldiers died for freedom of speech not so you can gossip.' and 'A gossip shares their character or lack thereof.' Both phrases, hit me right to the heart. I am guilty of gossiping and it's such a hard habit to break. But nothing good comes from it, so there's no use of doing it. It does more hurt than good. President Pilkington's talk reminding me of First Presidency Dieter Uchtdorf's talk about the merciful obtain mercy. We just need to 'stop it', everyone of us is a son or daughter of God, we all brothers and sisters. We are all trying to get towards the same goal, and gossiping won't help us get to that goal.
So I'll be working on gossiping and quitting that bad habit.
This week, we met with a potential church investigator, named Wendy. She's from Tian Jin,China. Right next to BeiJing. We found her on the street, and asked her what her favourtie Chinese restaurant was. In our first lesson, she told us she just wanted find happiness in her life. That's a perfect desire because that's all what missionaries have to share. Since the first lesson, last week, she's been to church, has been reading the Book of Mormon a chapter a day, and also praying to God to ask if the book is true! She's keeping all her commitments, she's progressing well. I see a lot of good things coming from Wendy(:
The mission life is great, next week it'll be half over....what? That's too fast....
