4th of july! Don't think the English would appreciate us celebrating that here haha but we will do it anyway! ;p
Sheffield is huge, it blows my mind how big it is but I know how to get from one university to the other so that's good and that's where all the Chinese are haha. The more North you go, the more engaging the people are. So the people aren't as easy to talk to down here but still nice(: i miss the Geordie, I will still practise it at church here haha
Oh funny story, it was the end of a hot, long day and we were walking home. This guy says, 'Hey girls.' And I reply to be nice, I say, 'Hola.' Haha my mind is currently mixed with Chinese, English, and Spanish. Also while I was reading scriptures with Doris for the last time, we were reading in English and I read, 'And it came to pass' as 'Shiqing shi zheyang de 事情是這樣的' I have no idea where my brain is at haha I have been working on my Spanish with sis monroy (she from Guatemala), praying in Spanish and remembering how to conjugate is so hard, it's like I am using a different part of my brain!
The flat is so posh, we live in city centre, on the 12th floor. Very modern design. Nicer than Newcastle but smaller. We have 4 sisters in the flat, but it's not too bad. This is Sister Monroy's last transfer so, Dad, I am ahead of you. I know I'll be taking over the area. So I have been trying to be a sponge and soak all that I need to know. Sis Monroy is assigned to speak English, but she can do both English and Spanish(:
The local church ward in Sheffield is pretty good, they all think Sheffield is better than Newcastle. It's kinda funny. But they are really excited to have a Chinese speaker here. Now they have two, Elder Von Cannon and I.
I am super excited to improve this area, I want to build up the Chinese group to make it as good as Newcastle, or even better. Since before I came, the area was English speaking and only has one progressing church investigator, who's English speaking but she's great. So I have to build up the Chinese group from zero, but I am so pumped for the challenge and have the motivation to build up the kingdom of God here. I need to leave Sheffield in a better condition than how I found it. I know I am here in Sheffield for a reason, Heavenly Father has a plan for me and I will do all that I can do to fulfill that plan. To accomplish this plan, there's a lot to do but with the strength of the Lord (Alma 26:12 & Philippians 4:13) I can do it with His help. I have this great feeling of support in this area, I know it's from the Lord and my companion, Sis Monroy. Exciting things will be happening here(:
Hope yous are well, wo ai nimen hen duo 我愛你們很多!
