Sounds like everyone is getting married! Jeffrey xiao biao ge, Kevin da biao ge, and uncle Powell. So much is happening while I am across the Pond. But it's all good news(:
I got Grandmama and Grandpapa's package, I haven't gotten yours yet. I'll probably get it this Wednesday, we have the Zone Leaders in our district so I'll get packages faster that usual haha
For El Shadai's cake, I used measuring cups and a tin to bake it in. Cut the cake in half, cut the tops off to level them and LAYERED it. I am a cake bo$$. Maybe if I don't get into the nursing program I'll be a pastrey chef and get fat, well fatter(:
We will be getting ipads this Wednesday! I am excited yet a lil apprehensive. Having ipads laying around, it's going to take a lot of self-discipline to control the urge to just browse the internet and social media. Because that's what happens when I get bored...but the mission will be giving us a lot of good training to resolve all those concerns(:
But this week was a lil slow...all of the students are in heavy duty exam period! Bah! I think I hate exams more than the students do! So our numbers were hurting but we still got to meet a few people(:
Sad news: Ryan dropped us. He basically said he wasn't ready to change. We didn't even get to discuss the Word of Wisdom or The 10 commandments yet! Well, Later down the road he'll be introduced to the Gospel(:
But on the other hand Yizhi is doing SO well! I never expected her to progress this much considering how we initially met and her background (super Buddhist, didn't bother about changing religions). So this week we taught her the Word of Wisdom, I already knew tea and coffee would be a problem. As we taught the lesson, we soon found out that she smokes occasionally, she drinks wine occasionally, drinks tea and coffee. Hey, at least, she doesn't do drugs haha And she only does it during Exam periods because she's so stressed and needs to stay awake. We got her to quit smoking, alcohol, and tea. And we cut Americano coffees out of her diet, we are slowly working down on the coffee. And so far she's keep that commitment. Also she prays three times a day! Getting her to read the scriptures everyday is hard but she tries. After her exams she'll be steady on the Word of Wisdom and she will be coming to Church!(:
This week we met with a potential church investigator, named Andrew. He's an older English man. He found us on the street, that never happens. One day, as sis Hurst and I were SC (street contacting) he stopped us and asked if we were Mormons and was interested to learn more about our religion. We taught him the Plan of Salvation and he went to Church yesterday and loved it. He also went to Martin's and Vincent's Baptism and really felt the Holy Spirit there. He's got potential.
This past Sunday the Sister missionaries taught the weekly lesson at the Relief Society meeting. So we taught how to flood the Earth with the Book of Mormon, it went well. There was a whole lot of discussion from the women. It got everyone excited to share and continue to share the Book of Mormon with those they come in contact with. Also, I talked in sacrament meeting about temple work and family history. It was a good talk, I felt like I only talked for 5 mins but it was actually 10 mins. I am a lot more comfortable talking in front of people now, that's a good blessing from being on a mission(:
Oh and another blessing, Crystal fed us on Sunday. Mates, she cooks the super Asian dishes. Like century eggs and lots of seafood things. I tried the 1000 year old eggs, it didn't taste bad, they actually have no flavour. Also I tried squid, that taste like chicken nuggets. Sis Hurst tried it all too, she did not like it tho haha it was funny to see her eat it. It look like she had to try with every muscle in her body to swallow squid century eggs down hahaa I am eating weird things but good things haha now I can eat mom's squid dishes.
