When we first started teaching Michelle, we searched our Book of Mormon book case and found just one in Spanish, which was a great blessing! So Sis Pugs and I get thru the lessons with my broken spanish and Google translate hahaha I feel bad, Sis Pug's first lesson in the field was with Michelle! I spoke spanish while she was still gobsmacked about missionary work hahaha. She was assigned Chinese speaking and her first lesson was in Spanish hahah But hey! Michelle is getting baptised! This Saturday(:
We have an investigator who majors in Pyschology. Mate, let me tell ya, her questions for us are DEEEEEEEP, like those are questions I'd ask in uni to my religion teacher. Her question really make us think, but all concerns can be resolved through the scriptures and the Holy Spirit! Sample questions: (celestial kingdom) 'If we are happy all the time, how are we actually happy?' 'Why do we need to be resurrected to be judged?' And there's harder ones but I can't think of them haha
So we taught two major Harry Potter fans this past week, HEDWIG and LUNA! The start of the lesson was a Q&A with our chinese church member, Sean, and Hedwig and Luna. During the Q&A, I'd try to transition the convo to the gospel of Jesus Christ, but Hedwig said 'Sorry my brain is just scattered and I can't focus on your important message.' She and Luna are in an english course before their major actually starts, and they had a huge paper to turn in that night! So I was gutted with that response, but as the convo went we attempted to transition again and it was a success. We talked about the Holy Spirit and the Book of Mormon. After the Spirit prompted me, I asked, how they felt now, Hedwig- 'AMAZING' and I was a bit taken back by that response and Luna said she felt good as well. We just testified about the Holy Spirit and how he can help us and invited them to baptism(: They said maybe, with time they will say yes.
Another great lesson we had was with LUCAS! Mate, he's just great. He's got the English sarcasm and it's just so fun to have lessons with him. But he was struggling with feeling the Holy Spirit, but he recognised that he always felt good after meeting with us and that his mental frame of mind was better. We testified to him that God blesses you when you keep his commandments and testified of the Spirit. It's always fantastic when church investigators finally realise for themselves what the Holy Spirit is!
From these two lessons, I learned that it's incredibly important to be worthy to have the Holy Spirit with you and to be open to his guidance. And it's truly by the Spirit that church investigators learn and come closer to Heavenly Father.
We had another miracle as well. As Sis pugs and I were heading to a tea appt (dinner appt) we were seeing all these mexican restaurants Sis pugs thought, 'It'd be a miracle if we got mexican food tonight.' I agreed. And that night, we got FAJITAS! God truly does answer prayers no matter how simple or small(:
Hope yous are all well! LOVE YOUS!
