Yous alright? Do I have a homecoming talk topic yet?
This week was a great week for us, loads of miracles. Been making the conscious effort to refocus me mind and heart on missionary work and when that happens miracles arise. We got a few referrals this week, the majority were bogus. But the one time we went by one referral on York Uni student accommodations, we met a chinese lad trying to skate on a baby board. It was legit smaller than a penny board. I really wanted to talk to him since he was chinese and attempting to skate! We had a great convo with him talked about Christianity and he finds that people who believe in Christ 'have power.' And it's true, we do. So we set up a return appt with him to talk about this 'power' and how we can have full access to this power thru the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the whole lesson he was SO engaged, asking loads of questions. He was really listening. We invited him to xili 洗禮 baptism and set a xili goal for him(: He also came to Young Single Adult Family Home Evening, he loved it. Said it was interesting and enjoyed it. The YSA are ace fellowshippers, they just took him under their arms, talked to him and made him feel loved. We'll be meeting him again this week(: His name is Li.
We also had a referral sent from Utah, a guy emailed Sis Hart to grab our number to have someone in York contact us and meet with us. Sis Hart gave the number, not expecting much from it but this referral contacted us! She sent us a text wanted to meet with us. We did, her name is Nakita. She's a PhD student! Has a deep Catholic background, and I never taught a real Christian person before, so I was right nervous when I heard it. But Nakita was so open to discuss with us whether our religion and teachings are true. She's searching for the truth, I have no idea what has sparked this, but no Catholic or person of any religious background ever thinks this question, 'Is there something more?' She is one def prepared from the member who referred her. What was amazing is that she said, 'I don't want to be like the people in the Bible and ignore truth if it's there.' She is absolutely mind blowing, we are meeting her again and she's agreed to take a full month to 'test and experiment' for herself.
Many more miracles too, too many to write about <3 and the key to that is having your heart in the right place it is truly the catalyst to all mish work.
It is quite difficult to have your heart in the right place. I've been thinking of a good solution to have your heart in the right place permanently. I always have to make a constant effort and reflect on my heart and mind. But as I do, I see all the amazing blessings in me life. A lot of the times, when I go to villages outside City Centre, I gaze at the green field and beautifulness of England and the wonderful opportunity to serve here. As I acknowledge the things I am grateful for in deeper and different ways, it lifts me up and gives me that refocus to have me heart in the right place. I'll be sure to do this daily, in me last transfer and chance here in England, so I may serve fully with all me might!
