Yas, I got my birthday package! I ate all the food in like a week, and I just started using the acne wash and topical creams. Like literally just started, this morning haha
That's great that yous went to the temple to volunteer work. Yous felt the Spirit so much that you passed out like Ammon in the Book of Mormon (!) and the prophet Joseph Smith-he was just exhausted tho. It's so funny and great that Ammon passes out when he feels the Spirit. You can tell he was one Spiritual man. And a SUPER great missionary.
Haha...I have been talking to everybody. 'Hi' counts as talking right? Yeah, I know. I was keeping the letter of the law, not the Spirit of it. So now I am working by keeping the Spirit of it(:
Loads of the Chinese are all going home for the summer holidays and will be back in September. But there are also a wave of new students who will be coming for summer term, a lot of them will be learning English.
While out street contacting, I met two Chinese girls that were born in Burma! Ha, so we had a great conversation with them about Burmese food. I tried to get one of them to cook for me hahaha but these two girls weren't too interested in learning more but they may be later in their schooling.
It's funny that you have a feeling I will be moving...Because this week I've had so many humbling experiences. The first one was teaching with a recently Returned Missionary...I basically got taught on how to teach and how to missionary. I was bitter at first, but then I realised that I can do better and be better. So the RM was a good example for me(: Another time was a situation where I started to feel contentious and prideful. I felt the Holy Spirit depart from me and peaceful good feelings were replaced by my anger. I didn't like this feeling. As i evaluated my actions, I simply overreacted and forgave her for her honest mistake and apologised and repented. But I was thankful for the experiences to humble myself. So I've been working on that this week. The Lord definitely teaching me something and preparing me for something.
Oh and something cool, this morning me companion shared something about 1st John 4:6-18. Having a perfect love, is to be selfless and humble and serviceable. And having perfect love can really solve any situation. And fear, is a selfish character. While working on one Christlike attribute, you will also incorporate others, because they all all connected to each other! My mind was a lil blown, like I knew what that scripture meant but I saw it in a different light.
Sunday was Stake Conference! Our conference was broadcasted from Scotland. And Elder Jeffrey R. Holland spoke to us. He basically melted off our faces with his rock solid testimony of the Book of Mormon. Mate, the Spirit was SO strong. He spoke for 45 mins, and the majority of that was on the BoM. His testimony definitely refined my testimony of the BoM. He is definitely an apostle of the Lord. He stands as a special witness of God. I'd encourage yous to watch that conference. Idk how to find it tho...it's on lds.org somewhere.
But Sister Texeira also spoke and she taught me a special principle. She first told a story about her granddaughter. So here's the story: She was with her granddaughter and they were walking on the street. The rule was, you need to hold someone's hand before you cross the street. And so the little girl hold her own hand and says, 'i'll hold my own hand' That technique-ly didn't break the rule but she didn't understand why the rule was there. Now this principle of keeping the Spirit of the Law can be applied to all the commandments given to us. Sister Texeira focused in Keeping the Sabbath day holy but it can apply to me and a missionary and all the mission rules and it can apply to investigators and members. it's important to know why we have commandments and why it is important to keep them.
Lots learned this week, but this was the most important. Hope yous are still well(: Soon the hoose will be empty...that's crazy. Let's get a dog!(: a sausage dog, 香腸狗! Bahaha I like that translation.
Love YOUS, Sis Chee
